Extended multi-part experimental methods involving complex instrumentation can be difficult to communicate in a traditional written form. That’s why Nikon has teamed up with the Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE) to visually share how our microscope systems are applied in real peer-reviewed research methods, helping to improve reproducibility.
Can't get enough microscopy? Then check out some of our special interest content, including information about the Nikon Small World competitions - the world's leading microscope-based image and video contests.
Nikon Small World
Nikon’s Small World is regarded as the leading forum for showcasing the beauty and complexity of life as seen through the light microscope. The Photomicrography Competition is open to anyone with an interest in microscopy and photography. The video competition, entitled Small World In Motion encompasses any movie or digital time-lapse photography taken through the microscope.
Cell × Image Lab
Cell culture has long relied on qualitative judgments by lab personnel. However, in a new era of stem cell culture for applications in drug discovery and regenerative medicine, it is important to approach cell culture processes quantitatively to ensure reproducibility. The Cell x Image Lab website details how phase contrast imaging and analysis with Nikon cell screening systems supports this endeavor.
