우수 센터 for Biomedical & Veterinary Imaging

ONIRIS / IRS-UN

The Nikon Center of Excellence at Nantes (CENN) for Biomedical & Veterinary Imaging is a collaboration between Nikon Europe B.V. and two host institutions: the University of Nantes (IRS-UN) and the Nantes Atlantic College of Veterinary Medicine, Food Science and Engineering (ONIRIS), and the French National Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE).

As a state-of-the-art imaging facility, the Center of Excellence provides scientists with access to Nikon’s advanced microscopy technologies, including super-resolution and multiphoton imaging systems. It also fosters collaboration and the exchange of expertise in both cutting-edge research and optical imaging.

ECLIPSE Ti2-E Inverted Microscope with CrestOptics X-Light V3 Confocal

Nikon’s ECLIPSE Ti2-E inverted microscope configured with the CrestOptics X-Light V3 spinning disk is ideal for high-end microscopy applications, offering optimized performance for various tasks such as fast cell dynamics in live specimens and effective optical sectioning in cleared tissues. The system leverages micro-lens technology for homogeneous illumination, which accelerates the process of qualitative and quantitative imaging on large samples.

AX Confocal with LIPSI High Content Screening System

LIPSI is a fully incubated, high content screening platform that enables high speed acquisition for up to 20 well plates.  LIPSI utilises all the functionality of Nikon's AX confocal inverted microscope, including its 25 mm field of view and capacity of high speed imaging, while offering modularity and expandability.

A1R Confocal and Picoquant FLIM System

Nikon's A1R confocal, when combined with the Picoquant FLIM system, measures the lifetime of fluorescence emitted by fluorescent molecules within the sample rather than their intensity. FLIM is particularly useful for studying dynamic processes in living cells, as it can detect changes in molecular interactions or environment over time.

A1R Si Spectral Imaging Confocal

The Nikon A1R confocal microscope system enables high-resolution, three-dimensional imaging of biological samples. With its 32-channel spectral detector, up to eight individual overlapping fluorophores can be unmixed simultaneously and acquired at a maximum frame rate of 16 frames per second.

N-SIM on an ECLIPSE Ti-E Inverted Microscope

Using high frequency Structured Illumination, the Nikon N-SIM can achieve image resolution of 85 nm, which was previously considered impossible with optical microscopes. Temporal resolution of 0.6 sec/ frame enables super-resolution time-lapse imaging of dynamic live cell events.

A1R Confocal with ECLIPSE Ti-E Inverted Microscope

Capturing high-quality confocal images at ultrahigh-speed and enhanced sensitivity with a resonant scanner and galvano scanner, Nikon's A1R is a powerful tool for the imaging and visualization of intracellular dynamics and interaction. The system comes equipped with a unique hybrid scan head incorporating both an ultra high-speed resonant scanner and a high-resolution galvano scanner, enabling simultaneous bleaching/ photoactivation and acquisition.

A1R MP+ on an ECLIPSE Ni-E Upright Microscope

A Multiphoton confocal A1R MP imaging system: a fast, high resolution galvanometer scanner combined with an ultra-high speed resonant scanner capable of frame rates from 30 to 420 fps and capable of deep imaging up to 1.4 mm in combination with a newly developed scanning head A1R MP+ compatible with a wavelength of 1300 nm.

ECLIPSE Ti2-E with C2+ Confocal and N-STORM Super-Resolution Imaging

This multimodal imaging system integrates the Nikon ECLIPSE Ti2-E inverted microscope with both the C2+ confocal scanner and the N-STORM super-resolution module. Combined with Nikon’s renowned optical performance, the C2+ provides reliable, high-quality confocal imaging through efficient sectioning and effective detection. For super-resolution applications, the N-STORM module utilizes Stochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy (STORM) technology to achieve resolution up to 10X beyond the diffraction limit.
Built on the stable Ti2-E platform with Nikon’s Perfect Focus System (PFS), the system supports long-term imaging and precise z-position maintenance. This setup allows researchers to transition seamlessly between confocal and super-resolution modalities via NIS-Elements software, enabling high-resolution imaging across a wide range of biological scales.
