Expands and intensifies its 12-year commitment
Nikon Europe B.V. has expanded its support for European Molecular Biology Laboratory’s (EMBL) Corporate Partnership Programme (CPP) by upgrading its membership to the Corporate level, in an extension of its 12-year-long commitment. “As one of the founding members of the CPP, Nikon Europe has helped support thousands of young scientists to improve their career prospects. We warmly welcome Nikon’s expanded and intensified commitment,” said EMBL Director Matthias Hentze. A major activity of the CPP is the Fellowship programme, and since 2010 more than 3,000 scientists representing 105 nationalities have received CPP fellowships to attend scientific conferences and practical courses.
“Most of the CPP fellowship recipients are in the very early stages of their scientific careers, and Nikon Europe’s decision to upgrade our CPP membership demonstrates the value our company places on investing in the future of the life sciences. We are proud of our long term commitment to this important programme,” said Daniel Ciepielewski, Nikon Europe B.V. General Manager.
Founded in 2009, the CPP is a hub for collaboration in support of training the next generation of molecular life scientists by connecting global leaders in industry, in particular companies with an emphasis on life sciences and biopharmaceutical R&D, with the latest developments in molecular biology and with world-leading molecular life scientists and biomedical researchers.
CPP Manager Nadine Ilk said: “The Programme cultivates long-term, fruitful relationships between EMBL and top-class corporate partners. Nikon Europe’s decision to upgrade its membership demonstrates the high value of the CPP both to members and to EMBL and the wider science community.”
