The Nikon Imaging Centre at King’s College London (NIC@KCL) is a core facility for light microscopy developed in partnership between King’s College London and Nikon. The mission of NIC@KCL is to promote innovation across a broad range of biological research fields by providing access to cutting edge microscopy and imaging equipment. NIC@KCL gives users an introduction to the latest state of the art light microscopy and imaging systems, and provides training in basic and advanced light microscopy techniques for the benefit of researchers at King's and the London research community.

CSU-X1 Spinning Disk Confocal with ECLIPSE Ti-E Inverted Microscope

The Yokogawa CSU-X1 spinning disk confocal combined with Nikon’s ECLIPSE Ti-E inverted research microscope platform provides fast, high-resolution 4D imaging of living cells with minimal effects of photo-damage. The Ti-E microscope is equipped with Perfect Focus (PFS) to enable long time-lapse imaging without focus drift. The system is also equipped with a fast, laser-based raster-scanning device (Miniscanner) for photobleaching and photostimulation.

N-STORM 5.0 with Ti2-E

N-STORM is a super-resolution microscope system that combines “STochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy” technology and Nikon's Eclipse Ti2-E research inverted microscope. The N-STORM super-resolution microscope provides dramatically enhanced resolution that is 10 times that of conventional optical microscopes.

A1Rsi with a Ti-E Inverted Microscope

The A1si is a powerful point scanning confocal microscope system suitable for a broad range of applications, particularly spectral resolution and rapid imaging. The A1R comes equipped with a unique hybrid scan head, incorporating both an ultra high-speed resonant scanner and a high-resolution galvano scanner, enabling simultaneous bleaching/photoactivation and acquisition. The enhanced spectral imaging capabilities feature acquisition of a 32-channel spectral image (512 x 512 pixels) with a single scan in 0.6 second. 512 x 32-pixel images can be captured at 24 fps.

A1R HD Confocal with ECLIPSE Ti-E Inverted Microscope

Capturing high-quality confocal images at ultrahigh-speed and enhanced sensitivity with a resonant scanner and galvano scanner, Nikon's A1R HD is a powerful tool for the imaging and visualization of intracellular dynamics and interaction.
