Nikon Names Hiro Kusaka as President & CEO of Nikon Instruments, Inc.

Nikon Instruments, Inc. announced today that Hiro Kusaka has been appointed as its President and CEO. Mr. Kusaka succeeds Takeshi Hirai, who was recently named President of Nikon Geotecs Co. Ltd in Japan.

In his new role in Melville, New York, Mr. Kusaka will be responsible for sales, customer service, and new product development, as well as to further expand Nikon's presence in the digital applications business in the science and industrial markets.

Mr. Kusaka's diverse global experience and understanding of the Nikon culture are tremendous assets to the company. His excellent strategic planning experience, strong leadership skills and his technological background will ensure Nikon Instruments' continued growth and success.

Mr. Kusaka, 51, began his career with Nikon in 1974 after graduating from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. Most recently, he was General Manager of the Nikon Instruments Company in Japan, where he was responsible for Nikon's expansion of the worldwide instruments business.
