Image live three-dimensional biological specimens with high resolution and minimal aberrations.

MELVILLE, N.Y. — Nikon Instruments Inc., innovator of advanced optical microscopy solutions, has announced the release of the CFI Plan Apo Lambda S 60XC objective lens, the latest in its silicone immersion series.

With the increasing demand for live imaging of complex 3D biological specimens, such as organoids and tissue explants, the need for high quality microscope objective lenses tailored towards such applications has never been greater. Silicone oil closely matches the refractive index (RI) of living cells and tissues, allowing for deep observations with minimal optical aberrations. Furthermore, silicone oil is highly evaporation resistant, enabling long-term imaging experiments.
