Observing

Points of observing

  • Focus on the specimen using a low magnification objective (4X or 10X) and observe the entire image. Set the aperture diaphragm lever to the same value as the magnification of the objective lens.
  • Search by operating focus knob and stage movement knob.
  • (Caution): Do not switch objective directly from 4X to 60X or 100X. It is necessary to switch to a higher magnification after focusing with a 10X objective.
  • Move the point you want to observe in detail to the center in the field of view. To observe the specimen in closer detail, increase the magnification of the objective (20X or 40X objectives), re-focus, and observe.
  • Set the aperture diaphragm lever to the same value as the magnification of the objective lens and observe.
  • For observation at the highest resolution, use an oil immersion objective lens to maximize the numerical aperture. Refer to item "Oil immersion" for oil immersion objectives and oil immersion observations.
