Purpose of Job: We are recruiting a European Support Specialist for Nikon Europe BV Healthcare Division (NEBV-HC). In this position, you will provide remote support to Nikon branches and distributors for product and support related questions including technical information, compatibility information and diagnosis of problems. We are looking for someone who will have an outstanding understanding of Nikon’s products and their application to customer needs and how this fits into the overall microscopy market and trends. You will be working in the European Applications & Support team and work closely with other HQ teams including Product Management, Marketing Communications & Service. You will support branch and distributor colleagues.
Reports to: Manager

Main Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosis & troubleshooting
  • Answering product-related technical questions
  • Assisting with internal training & documentation

Essential Profile:

  • Postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) or equivalent work experience in a STEM degree. Preferably, this should in a life sciences, biomedical or biophysics subject.
  • Advanced light microscopy user experience, including acquisition and analysis software
  • Knowledge of advanced light microscopy technologies and concepts
  • Knowledge of microscopy techniques and applications eg. Confocal, super-resolution, light sheet, high content, FLIM & FRAP
  • Understanding of the laboratory environment
  • Ability to convey complex technical information, written and verbal, to both experts and non-experts
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Location: Position located in Amstelveen Office, the Netherlands

Desirable Profile:

  • Software programming experience
  • Experience delivering microscopy training to users/colleagues
  • Experience providing after-sales support on scientific equipment
  • Experience with Nikon confocal products and NIS-Elements software
